The weight of the paperboard is often measured in grams per square meter (gsm) or pounds (lbs), reflecting its density. Paperboard comes in different colors, with variants like single to full-color CMYK and PMS. Some types may have coatings for protection or a smooth finish. Its printability is crucial for packaging and printed materials, compatible with methods like embossing, debossing, texture printing, silver or gold foiling, and spot UV. These features make paperboard suitable for items like cereal boxes, paperback book covers, and greeting cards.
